Welsh Volunteers (1967–1971) was a short-lived infantry regiment of the British Army’s Territorial Army. It was based at Maindy Barracks and existed from 1967 until 1971. The regiment was formed during the 1967 creation of the Territorial and Army Volunteer Reserve (TAVR), when five Welsh TA infantry battalions were reduced to form companies of the Welsh Volunteers. After a brief existence, the regiment was disbanded and its companies returned to their former regiments: HQ, B and C Companies joined the 3rd Battalion, Royal Regiment of Wales; A and D Companies joined the 3rd Battalion, Royal Welch Fusiliers.
