WMXE (100.9 FM) is a classic hits radio station licensed to South Charleston, West Virginia. It serves Charleston and Kanawha County and is owned by WKLC, Inc. The station brands itself as “100.9 The Mix” and also simulcasts on 102.3 FM WWQB in Westwood, Kentucky, serving Huntington as “The Mix.” WMXE broadcasts at 100.9 MHz with 3,000 watts of power and a height of 91 meters. It first went on the air in 1985, and the call letters mean “W MiX E.” The station’s sister stations are WKLC-FM, WJYP, WMON, WWQB, and WSCW.
