W. E. Bishop
Waldo Emerson Bishop (January 14, 1915 – January 30, 1990) was a Florida Democrat who served in the state legislature. He represented Columbia County in the Florida House of Representatives from 1955 to 1956. He then served in the Florida Senate: first for the 14th district from 1956 to 1957, and later for the 6th district from 1968 to 1972. He lived in Lake City, Florida, and was married to Virginia Hodges. Bishop was part of the Pork Chop Gang, a group of rural lawmakers who held power in Florida because rural districts were overrepresented, and who used strong tactics to push their agenda.
