Sig River
Sig River (also called Mekerra) is a river in Algeria. It is a tributary of the Macta River and flows through the town of Sig. For most of its course it sits about 50 metres above sea level and ends roughly 30 kilometres from the Mediterranean. It originates in the highlands south of the Daïa Mountains. The river is a wadi, a dry riverbed that can flood after rain. The area has a rough winter and a fairly warm summer, with annual rainfall under 400 millimetres.
