Voz de Mando is a regional Mexican band from Los Angeles, California, known for their norteño-banda style. The group began in 2009, though they started releasing music in 2007 with Escoge Tu Camino. Core members are Jorge Gaxiola, Miguel Gaxiola, Eduardo “El Chino” Gonzalez, Adrian Gonzalez, and Carlos “Charly” Sigala, with past members Domingo Bolaños and Fernando Rodriguez. The members have roots in Michoacán and Baja California.

They built their early career with self-released albums Levantando la Voz (2009) and 12 Impactos de Alto Calibre (2009), then signed with Universal’s DISA imprint. In 2010 they released Con la Nueva Federación, featuring the breakout hit Comandos del M.P. (500 Balazos) by Miguel Gaxiola, which reached the top ten on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Songs chart.

In 2011, Voz de Mando appeared in the film A Better Life, and their song from the soundtrack gained further attention. They followed with singles like Y Ahora Resulta (2012) and Muchacho de Campo (2013). In 2014 the band left Universal and teamed with Sony Music. Jorge Gaxiola started AfinArte Music and released Batalla del Golfo with Sony, which helped shape the Levantado Polvadera album. The album’s hit single Levantando Polvadera won Song of the Year in the Regional Music category at the 2016 iHeartRadio Music Awards, making them the first regional Mexican band to win an iHeart award.

In 2015 Miguel Gaxiola launched Fortaleza Guitars, a line of handmade guitars. In 2016 Voz de Mando appeared in the TV series Ruta 35, with Compadre No Rajes as the theme song. In 2017 they released their seventh studio album, featuring two chart-topping singles, including Soldado Latinoamericano and Pa’ que no me anden Contando, the latter reaching the Billboard top ten.
