The Venice Shoreline Crips (VSLC) is a Crips gang set based in Venice, Los Angeles. They formed in the Oakwood neighborhood, a Black community near the coast that faced segregation and later became known for poverty. Many Black residents moved to Oakwood to work in oil fields in the 1930s and 1940s, and the area remained underdeveloped for decades.

In the 1960s, inspired by the Black Power movement and rising racial tensions, the Shoreline Crips formed alongside other Crip gangs in South Central Los Angeles. In the 1980s, crack cocaine popularity helped fuel a narcotics presence on Oakwood and the Venice Boardwalk. Throughout the 1990s, violence increased as they fought rivals like Culver City 13 and Venice 13 over control of the drug trade, though a cease-fire later paused the fighting.

As white homeowners moved into the area, Los Angeles intensified efforts to combat gang activity. Despite raids and injunctions, the Shoreline Crips have maintained a foothold in their territory, with hundreds of members.
