Van, Oregon
Van is a small, unincorporated community in Harney County, Oregon, United States. It lies along Van–Drewsey Road in the Wolf Creek Valley, about 50 miles northeast of Burns. The town sits at about 4,124 feet above sea level.
History: Van had a post office from 1891 to 1953, named after local settler Van Middlesworth. In 2008, the former U.S. Forest Service Van Guard Station was for sale.
Climate: Van has a semi-arid climate (BSk).
Education: Children in Van attend Pine Creek School District 5 (Pine Creek School, K–8) and Crane Union High School (in the Harney County Union High School District 1J).
