University of Valladolid (UVa) is a public university in Valladolid, Castile and León, Spain. It was founded in 1241, making it one of the oldest universities in the world. Today it serves about 19,000 undergraduate students and has around 2,480 professors.

The university runs seven campuses across four cities: Valladolid, Palencia, Soria, and Segovia.

History and campuses: UVa originated from the University of Palencia, founded by Alfonso VIII between 1208 and 1212. In the 15th century, studies moved to Valladolid. The university has built important historic buildings and expanded over time.

Culture and student life: The university supports music, theatre, and other arts. It hosts the Youth Orchestra of the University of Valladolid (JOUVa), a university choir, and the theatre group Gente de Teatro de la UVa. It runs cultural programs all year, including UniversiJazz and Santa Cruz celebrations.

Library system: UVa has 14 libraries across Valladolid and other cities. The collection includes about 970,000 books, 45,000 ancient titles, 16,000 periodicals, 21,000 e-journals, 900 e-books, and 66 databases, plus 33,000 theses.
