Tyler Eppler
Tyler Eppler is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Wei Chuan Dragons of the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL). He was born January 5, 1993, in Navasota, Texas. Eppler played college baseball at Texarkana College and Sam Houston State, and was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the sixth round of the 2014 MLB draft. He began his pro career in the Pirates’ minor leagues and later played in Japan for the Orix Buffaloes in 2019. After a brief stint with the Washington Nationals organization in 2020, he pitched for the Rochester Red Wings in 2021. He then moved to Korea to play for the Kiwoom Heroes in 2022, and in 2023 he played for the Fubon Guardians in Taiwan before finishing the year with Monterrey in Mexico. In February 2024 he joined the Wei Chuan Dragons in CPBL and re-signed for 2025. His younger brother Shelton Eppler is a quarterback for the Vienna Vikings in Europe’s European League of Football.
