Thrawn: Treason is a 2019 Star Wars novel by Timothy Zahn, published July 23 by Del Rey Books in the United States. It continues the story of Grand Admiral Thrawn, a character Zahn created for the Heir to the Empire trilogy (1991–1993). The book is the sequel to Thrawn: Alliances, the third entry in the newer Thrawn trilogy and the tenth Thrawn novel overall. In December 2018, Lucasfilm and Del Rey announced Zahn would write a new Thrawn trilogy. Zahn said he wants both sides of the conflict to be smart and strategic, with no lazy heroes or villains. The novel was on The New York Times Hardcover Fiction Best Sellers list for three weeks starting August 11, 2019, reaching fifth place. Den of Geek reviewer Megan Crouse called it a solidly constructed story with threads that could lead to their own novels.
