Thomas Hine & Co. is a cognac house based in Jarnac, France. It is owned by the French company EDV SAS.

History
Thomas Hine & Co. traces its origins to 1763, when an Englishman named Thomas Hine from Dorset started the business. He was arrested during the French Revolution. Afterward, Hine married Françoise Elizabeth Delamain, whose family owned a cognac house in Jarnac. Hine took control of the business and renamed it Thomas Hine & Co. in 1817.

House
The Hine House sits on the quai de l’Orangerie along the Charente River in Jarnac and serves as the company’s headquarters. It is one of the oldest houses in Jarnac.

Royal warrant and later events
In 1962, Queen Elizabeth II granted the company a royal warrant, making it a supplier of cognac to the British royal family. It remains the only cognac house to hold this honor. In 2008, one of its factories was bought by Armenian entrepreneur Tigran Arzakantsyan, owner of the Great Valley Wine and Cognac Company.
