The Wedding Year
The Wedding Year is a 2019 American romantic comedy directed by Robert Luketic. It stars Sarah Hyland as Mara Baylor, a Los Angeles photographer who isn’t sure she wants to get married. Her boyfriend, Jake Riddick (Tyler James Williams), is ready for commitment, but their plans are tested when Mara is invited to seven weddings in one year.
Mara and Jake try to juggle dating, weddings, and family pressure. Mara questions whether to settle down, while Jake wants more commitment. After a difficult stretch, Mara ends the relationship and focuses on her photography, and Jake moves back east to continue his career. They later reconnect at a later wedding, apologize, and realize they still love each other. They even adopt a rescue dog together.
The film also features Jenna Dewan, Matt Shively, and Anna Camp. It was produced by Lakeshore Entertainment and distributed by Entertainment Studios Motion Pictures. It was released on September 20, 2019, and runs for 90 minutes.
