The Devil and the Smalander (1927 film)
The Devil and the Smalander (Hin och smålänningen) is a 1927 Swedish silent drama film. It was directed by and stars Erik A. Petschler, with cast members Thor Modéen, Jenny Tschernichin-Larsson, and Emmy Albiin. The screenplay was written by Sam Ask and Erik A. Petschler, and Gustav A. Gustafson was the cinematographer. Produced by Petschler-Film and distributed by Fribergs Filmbyrå, the movie runs 90 minutes and is silent with Swedish intertitles. It premiered on 14 November 1927 in Sweden. The film was later remade in 1949 as a sound film with the same title.
