Teri A. Reynolds, MD, MS, is an American physician-scientist who works for the World Health Organization (WHO). She leads the emergency and trauma care program in the WHO’s Department for Management of Noncommunicable Diseases, Disability, Violence and Injury Prevention. Reynolds earned her undergraduate degree at Columbia University on a full scholarship and trained as an emergency medical technician in college. She received her medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco, and a master’s degree in Global Health. She joined WHO in May 2015 as the organization’s first appointment in Emergency Medicine, and her work focuses on helping countries strengthen emergency care in a cost-effective way, including major efforts to develop emergency care systems in Africa. In 2023, she was elected to the National Academy of Medicine.
