Tangata horningi is a small spider in the Orsolobidae family. It is found only on Snares Island, New Zealand. The species was described in 1985 by Ray Forster and Norman Platnick from male and female specimens collected on Snares Island. The holotype is kept at the Otago Museum. Males are about 2.96 mm long and females about 3.72 mm. The abdomen has a dorsal pattern.

It is listed under the New Zealand Threat Classification System as Naturally Uncommon, with the qualifiers Island Endemic and One Location.
