Superior Public Service Medal
The Superior Public Service Medal is the U.S. Army’s civilian public service award. It honors exceptional service that makes a substantial contribution to the Army’s missions. It is presented by the Secretary of the Army to private citizens.

- Eligibility: Private citizens not employed by the Federal Government. Army civilian employees, military personnel, and Army contractors are ineligible. Military spouses may qualify if they meet the criteria.
- Established: June 1998 (formerly the Secretary of the Army Public Service Award).
