Sultan Ahmed (6 June 1953 – 4 September 2017) was an Indian politician from West Bengal. He served as Union Minister of State for Tourism in the UPA government of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh from 2009 to 2012. He was a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha from Uluberia from 2009 to 2017, representing the Trinamool Congress. Earlier, he was a two-time Congress MLA for Entally, serving from 1987 to 1991 and again from 1996 to 2001.

Ahmed began his political career with the Indian National Congress, joining the Chatra Parishad in 1969 and the Youth Congress in 1973, where he later became District Secretary (1978–1980). He helped found the Trinamool Congress in 1998.

He held several leadership roles in minority and sports organizations, including secretary and later president of Mohammedan Sporting Club Kolkata, president of Calcutta Muslim Orphanage, and president of the Muslim Institute. He was a member of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, General Secretary of the Muslim Institute in 1984, and its president in 2017. From 2015 until his death, he served as Vice Chairman of the All India Hajj Committee and was the chairman of the West Bengal Minority Development and Finance Corporation.

Ahmed died of cardiac arrest on 4 September 2017 in Kolkata at the age of 64. He is survived by his wife, Sajda Ahmed (married 1985; died 2017), and two sons, Taha Ahmed and Sharique Ahmed. Taha works at Apollo Gleneagles, and Sharique is the Finance Secretary of Mohammedan Sporting Club. He studied at Maulana Azad College (B.A.) and Calcutta University.
