Spirama recessa
Spirama recessa is a moth in the Erebidae family. It lives in New Guinea and tropical northern Australia. The wingspan is about 50 mm. The wing pattern looks like the face of a snake with its mouth partly open, which helps camouflage. It was first described by Walker in 1858. Common synonyms used in the past include Speiredonia recessa, Spiramia revolvens, and Speiredonia revolvens.
