Shine (Edenbridge album)
Shine is the fourth studio album by Austrian symphonic metal band Edenbridge. It was released on 25 October 2004 and produced by Dennis Ward. Recording took place in 2004 at House of Audio, Seagull Music Studio, and Farpoint Station Studio. The album runs 53 minutes and 53 seconds and was released by Massacre Records. Shine features 10 tracks and continues the band’s melodic, epic style.
Critics compared its sound to Edguy, Stratovarius, and Masterplan. The German edition of Metal Hammer gave it 5 out of 7, noting that Sabine Edelsbacher’s voice didn’t always carry as much pathos as singers like Amy Lee, Sharon den Adel, or Tarja Turunen, but on slower, medieval-inspired songs she reminded reviewers of Candice Night. Rock Hard said Edenbridge balanced romance with kitsch but could use more up-tempo tracks.
Shine sits between Aphelion (2003) and The Grand Design (2006) in Edenbridge’s discography.
