Sallgast is a small municipality in the Elbe-Elster district of Brandenburg, Germany, located in the Lower Lusatia region. It covers about 41.9 square kilometers and sits at 127 meters above sea level. As of December 31, 2023, about 1,390 people live there, giving a population density of around 33 inhabitants per square kilometer. The town is part of the Kleine Elster municipal association and has 9 subdivisions (Ortsteile). The mayor is Frank Tischer, serving from 2024 to 2029.
