Sajana Rana
Sajana Rana, born 13 June 1987 in Waling, Nepal, is a Nepalese women’s football midfielder. She played for APF until 2015, then moved to Maldives to play futsal for New Radiant, becoming Nepal’s first female player to compete abroad. In her second game for New Radiant, she scored twice to help the team reach the regional quarterfinals.
Rana has represented Nepal since 2010, debuting at the SAFF Women’s Championship. She scored in Nepal’s 8–0 friendly victory over Kuwait. She won the Most Valuable Player award at the 15th Ncell Cup in 2013, earning a Yamaha scooter.
Her notable performances include three goals at the 2012 SAFF Championship (three goals in wins over Pakistan and Afghanistan) despite a knee injury. In the 2014 SAFF Championship, she scored twice against Bhutan and added a penalty goal against Pakistan as Nepal reached the final, which they lost 6–0 to India.
