Saint-Claude (Besançon)
Saint-Claude is a large district in the eastern part of Besançon. In 1965, the City of Montarmots was built there, with more than 30 housing units. These homes were mainly meant to house Franco-Algerian repatriates after the Algerian War. The district lies east of Besançon, near Orchamps, Fontaine-Écu and Chaprais. There are kindergartens, primary schools, and several middle schools (collèges) and high schools (lycées) in the area.
