Roy Nurse
Roydon Frederick Nurse (23 September 1919 – 7 February 1991) was a New Zealand rugby league player who played on the wing. Born in Wales, he moved to New Zealand and played for Ponsonby United from 1937 to 1945, making 39 appearances and scoring 13 tries. He later transferred to Mount Albert United in Auckland.
Nurse represented Auckland Pakehā (Auckland Māori) eight times, scoring two tries, and represented Auckland five times, scoring four tries, between 1939 and 1945. In 1946 he played one Test match for New Zealand against Great Britain, becoming Kiwi number 286 as New Zealand won 13–8. He died in Auckland in 1991 at the age of 71.
