Rossy
Rossy is a Canadian regional chain of discount stores, mainly operating in Quebec, Newfoundland, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia. It was founded in 1949 by Michael Rossy. The stores sell groceries, kitchenware, pet products, beauty and health items, gifts, toys, bedding and clothing, furniture, electronics, office supplies, dishwashers, and more. The first Rossy store in Ontario opened in 1981 in Cornwall. In Newfoundland, Hart's Bargain Giant locations were converted to Rossy stores in 2012. Michael Rossy died in 2010 at age 88. He was the uncle of Larry Rossy, founder of Dollarama, but Rossy is not related to Dollarama. Dollarama is connected to Rossy S, a now-defunct chain started in 1910 by Michael Rossy’s father.
