Rob Holmberg is a former NFL linebacker who played eight seasons. He was born June 5, 1971, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. He stands 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighed about 234 pounds during his career. He attended Mount Pleasant Area High School in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania. Holmberg began his college football at the U.S. Naval Academy, then transferred to Penn State for his final three years.

He was drafted in 1994 in the seventh round (217th overall) by the Los Angeles Raiders. He played for the Raiders from 1994 to 1997, then spent time with the Indianapolis Colts and New York Jets in 1998, the Minnesota Vikings in 1999, and the New England Patriots (2000–2001), Carolina Panthers (2001), and Green Bay Packers (2001). He won a Super Bowl with the Patriots in Super Bowl XXXVI.

His career NFL stats include 67 tackles, 2 sacks, and 2 fumble recoveries.

Off the field, Holmberg is married to Deidre and has two children. He owns several Denny's restaurants around Pittsburgh and is the father-in-law of Penn State wrestler and mixed martial artist Bo Nickal.
