Prospect is a very small hamlet in the town of Trenton, Oneida County, New York. It sits at the intersection of New York Route 365 and Reference Route 920V, just west of West Canada Creek.

History and status
- Prospect began as a settlement in 1803 and became an incorporated village in 1890.
- In 2015, residents voted to dissolve the village after a dispute over workers’ compensation claims for two firefighters. The village dissolved on December 31, 2015, and local government and services are now managed by the Town of Trenton.
- The area had a volunteer fire department (which closed in 2014) and an ambulance service that remains in operation.

Population and geography
- The community is very small, with about 291 people in 2010 and 248 people in 2020.
- It covers only a small area and is part of the Holland Patent Central School District.
