Primitive Methodist Magazine was the monthly magazine of the Primitive Methodist Church in Britain. It ran from 1821 to 1898, a little over a century. It was founded and printed by Hugh Bourne at Bemersley Farm near Mow Cop. In 1843 production moved to London and John Flesher became editor. A later well-known editor was H. B. Kendall, who wrote three major histories of Primitive Methodism. The magazine began as a simple paper-cover booklet and was later bound into annual volumes. A complete set is kept at Englesea Brook Museum of Primitive Methodism, which also displays Bourne’s printing press. The magazine ceased publication in 1898.
