Padmashree Sahitya Puraskar
Padmashree Sahitya Puraskar, or Padmashree Literature Award, is an annual Nepali literary prize presented by Khemlal-Harikala Lamichhane Samaaj Kalyan Pratisthan. It honors a book that makes a significant contribution to Nepali literature and is awarded alongside Padmashree Sadhana Samman. The prize was established in 2006 (2063 BS) by writer-businessman Jiba Lamichhane, who started the organization in honor of his parents. Ganesh Rasik was the first winner. The prize money started at रु100,000, later rose to रु200,000, and since 2076 BS it has been रु300,000. In 2066, 2067, and 2071 there were two winners and the prize money was shared. The award was cancelled in 2076 after Sanjeev Uprety declined to accept amid allegations concerning Modanath Prasit. The most recent winner is Keshab Dahal (2077 BS), and the final award was given in 2020 (2077 BS).
