Oman national under-17 football team
The Oman national under-17 football team is the youth team of Oman, managed by the Oman Football Association. They are nicknamed Al-Ahmar (The Reds) and Samba Al-Khaleej (Gulf Samba). They compete in the AFC (Asia) and WAFF (West Asia). The head coach is Anwar Al Habsi, and their home stadium is the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex. Their FIFA code is OMA.
Biggest win: 18-0 against Guam in Bishan, Singapore, on 25 October 2024.
FIFA U-17 World Cup: Appearances – 3 (first in 1995). Best result – fourth place (1995).
AFC U-17 Asian Cup: Appearances – 11 (first in 1994). Best result – champions (1996, 2000).
WAFF U-16 Championship: Appearances – 1 (first in 2019). Best result – fifth place (2019).
Notable history: In their first FIFA U-17 World Cup (1995), Oman finished fourth after losing 2-0 to Argentina in the third-place match.
2025 AFC U-17 Asian Cup qualification: In the window held October 23–27, Oman played several matches in the knockout rounds.
