Nots are a three-piece noise-punk band from Memphis. They released their debut album, We Are Nots, in 2014 and have toured North America and Europe. The lineup features Natalie Hoffmann (vocals/guitar), Charlotte Watson (drums), and Meredith Lones (bass). Past members include Laurel Ferndon (drums) and Alexandra Eastburn (keyboards). The band is signed to Goner Records in North America and Heavenly Records in Europe.

Hoffmann, who is from Nixa, Missouri, moved to Memphis in 2007 for art college. Nots began in 2011 as a collaboration between Hoffmann and Watson while they were in other local bands. They released a demo that Goner Records turned into an EP, Dust Red, in 2013, followed by the single “Fix” b/w “Modern” in 2014. After Ferndon left in early 2014, Eastburn and Lones joined the band and Watson changed to drums. The group recorded with Doug Easley and developed a high-energy, interlocking sound. They played at SXSW in 2014 and released the digital singles “Decadence” and “Reactor” in October 2014.

We Are Nots was released in North America on November 11, 2014, and the band headed on their first full US tour. In 2015 they released the single “Virgin Mary” b/w “Shelf Life” (the latter later released on streaming platforms) and signed with Heavenly Records for Europe. We Are Nots was re-released in Europe in November 2015, followed by an eight-date European tour. In 2016 they issued their second album, Cosmetic, led by the single “Entertain Me.” Hoffmann also works as a visual artist and instructor at the Memphis College of Art.

On May 10, 2019, Nots released their third album, 3.
