The North American Maglev Transport Institute (NAMTI) is a nonprofit organization based in Washington, DC. It aims to educate the public about magnetic levitation (maglev) transport and acts as a central source of information about maglev technology, helping people distinguish it from traditional trains.

NAMTI was founded by maglev experts, including Dr. John Harding, the last Chief Maglev Scientist for the U.S. government. Harding retired from the U.S. Federal Railroad Administration in 2005, and the role was not refilled, leaving a knowledge gap at the U.S. Department of Transportation about major overseas maglev advances. NAMTI was created to stay current with evolving international maglev developments. The institute maintains a website with data, charts, maps, photos, and videos of various maglev technologies being developed worldwide. Its resources are used by transportation planners, engineering firms, and governments considering new maglev projects. The NAMTI website was first active in 2011, last active in October 2015, and the domain was listed for sale in January 2016.
