Professor Norman Bowery (1944 – 25 October 2016) was a British pharmacologist. He was Head of the Division of Neuroscience and Chair of Pharmacology at the University of Birmingham from 1995 to 2004. Bowery served as president of the British Pharmacological Society twice, 1995–1997 and 1999–2000.

His research focused on GABA B receptors, and he coined the term “GABA B.” He carried out extensive studies on the pharmacology of these receptors. Earlier in his career, he worked at St Thomas’ Hospital in London. Bowery was also editor-in-chief of the journal Current Opinion in Pharmacology.
