Nito Gomes
Fernando de Lacerda Gomes, known as Nito Gomes, is a Bissau-Guinean footballer who plays as a centre-back for Paços de Ferreira in Portugal’s Liga Portugal 2 and for the Guinea-Bissau national team. He was born on February 3, 2002, in Bissau and is 1.84 meters tall.
Gomes began his senior career with Benfica Bissau in 2020, then played for Talavera B in Spain and Trujillo. He joined Marítimo B in 2022 and was promoted to Marítimo’s first team in January 2023, making his Primeira Liga debut on January 22, 2023, as a late substitute in a 1-0 win over Estoril. In July 2025, he signed a two-year contract with Paços de Ferreira, wearing number 19.
On the international stage, Gomes represented Guinea-Bissau’s U20s at the 2020 WAFU Zone B U-20 Tournament. He received a senior national team call-up in September 2023 for Africa Cup of Nations qualifying and has since earned 1 cap and 1 goal.
