Nick Johnston is an Australian communications specialist based in Melbourne. He studied journalism at RMIT and began his career with The Age in Melbourne and Canberra, then worked for the ABC as a state political reporter for three years. In 2003 he joined the Nine Network, reporting on the Commonwealth Games and the 2006 Victorian state election. He was a finalist in a United Nations Association of Australia media awards in 2007. In 2009 he left Nine News to become Public Affairs Manager for the Australian Football League. In 2011 he moved to Sydney to lead Corporate Affairs and Communications for the Greater Western Sydney Giants. He then joined V8 Supercars in 2015 as General Manager PR and Communications, and in 2017 became General Manager of Media and Communications for the National Basketball League, a position he holds. He lives in Melbourne with his partner and two children.
