Michel Champagne, born May 4, 1956, in Saint-Séverin-de-Proulxville, Quebec, is a Canadian politician with a background as a businessman, political scientist and teacher. He was mayor of Saint-Séverin-de-Proulxville from 1981 to 1984. In 1984, he was elected as a Progressive Conservative Member of Parliament for Champlain and was re-elected in 1988, serving in the 33rd and 34th Parliaments. He lost his seat in 1993 to Réjean Lefebvre of the Bloc Québécois. Champagne was a moderate Quebec sovereigntist who supported the Beau risque approach after the 1980 referendum.

In 2001, he sought the Parti Québécois nomination for the Laviolette by-election, backed by Gilles Baril, but Yves Demers was chosen, and Demers then lost to Liberal Julie Boulet. Champagne returned to municipal politics and ran for mayor of Saint-Séverin again in 2009, winning the position without opposition, returning to the mayoralty 25 years after leaving it for federal politics. He also served in festival leadership, as President of the Festival Western de Saint-Tite in 1996 and as General Manager in 1997.
