Mesogyrus

Mesogyrus was an extinct genus of fossil beetles in the whirligig beetle family (Gyrinidae). It lived during the Late Jurassic to Early Cretaceous periods, roughly from the Oxfordian to Aptian ages (about 163 to 113 million years ago). The genus was described by Ponomarenko in 1973 and is placed in the subfamily Heterogyrinae. Fossil species are known from this genus.
