Maurice Hill (born 14 September 1935 in Scunthorpe) is a former English cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and a leg-spin bowler. Hill played for Nottinghamshire from 1953 to 1965, had a stint with MCC in 1964, Derbyshire from 1966 to 1967, and Somerset from 1970 to 1971. In first-class cricket, he appeared in 272 matches, scoring 10,722 runs at an average of 24.09, with seven centuries and 51 fifties; his top score was 137 not out. He bowled occasionally, taking 5 wickets at 62.20, and he took 152 catches. He made his Nottinghamshire debut on 22 July 1953 against Hampshire and his last first-class match on 9 June 1971 for Somerset against Lancashire. His son Greg Hill played List A cricket for Devon and Second XI cricket for Derbyshire in the early 1990s.
