Maritana (ship)
Maritana was a 991-ton full-rigged ship that sank on November 3, 1861, off the coast of Massachusetts. It is regarded as Boston Harbor’s worst shipwreck. The ship was lost on Shag Rocks in Broad Sound at 42°19′47″N 70°52′54″W. A monument to Captain G.W. Williams and the sailors who died stands in Old Village Cemetery in Dedham, Massachusetts.
