MC Shy D
Peter T. Jones, known as MC Shy D (also Shy D), is an American rapper and producer. Born in The Bronx, New York, he later based himself in Atlanta, Georgia, and is considered one of the first rappers from that city. He performs hip hop and Miami bass and released six studio albums from 1988 to 1999 on several labels. With Luke Skyywalker Records, he issued Got to Be Tough and Comin' Correct in 1988. He then released Don't Sweat Me in 1990 with On Top Records and Benz Records, The Comeback in 1993 with Wrap Records, Recordnize in 1996 featuring DJ Smurf on Benz Records, and Against the Odds in 1999 with Charlotte 'Tha Rhythum' Crooms on Benz Records. He is a cousin of Afrika Bambaataa. Shy D won $1.6 million in royalties and damages from Luther Campbell over money owed for Got to Be Tough and Comin' Correct on Luke Records.
