Little Trout River is a small river in Adirondack Park, Franklin County, New York. It is 19.7 kilometers (12.2 miles) long and begins at the outlet of a small lake between Soulia Mountain and Baldy Mountain in the Adirondacks. The source is about 1.7 kilometers southwest of Lower Chateauguay Lake, 6.0 kilometers south of the U.S.–Canada border, and 4.4 kilometers northwest of Upper Chateauguay Lake.

The river flows into a bend on the east bank of the Trout River about 2.9 kilometers south of the Canada border. From there, the water travels through the Trout River for about 30.9 kilometers toward the north and northeast, then into the Châteauguay River for about 60.3 kilometers to the south shore of Lac Saint-Louis at Châteauguay, southwest of Montreal, before reaching the Saint Lawrence River. A right-bank tributary is Alder Brook.

The valley is within New York, with nearby roads including Constable Street and State Highway 30. In winter, the river surface is usually frozen from mid-December to the end of March, with safe ice travel typically from late December to early March. Water levels vary with the seasons and precipitation.
