Kim Jae-soon (November 30, 1923 – May 17, 2016) was a South Korean politician who served as Speaker of the National Assembly from 1988 to 1990. Born in Pyongyang during Japanese rule, he began his political career by being elected to the National Assembly in 1960, representing Cheorwon and Hwacheon in Gangwon Province. He was re-elected in seven consecutive elections and eventually became Speaker. He retired from the National Assembly and politics in 1993, later working as an advisor and consultant to Samtoh, a monthly magazine of essays. He died of natural causes on May 17, 2016, at age 93.
