KID Museum, short for Kids’ Innovation & Discovery, is a children’s museum and maker space in Bethesda, Maryland, near Washington, D.C. In May 2022, it opened a larger Downtown Bethesda location with more room for activities like woodworking and robotics. The new space is almost four times bigger than the old one, which is on the lower floor of Davis Library and still hosts some programs. Since opening in 2014, more than 330,000 people have visited. The Washington Post says the hands-on programs help kids learn teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking, as well as practical skills like designing, building, and using power tools.
