KFNC (97.5 FM), known as ESPN Houston, is a commercial sports radio station licensed to Mont Belvieu, Texas. It serves the Greater Houston area and the Golden Triangle and is owned by Gow Media, LLC (David Gow). The studios are in Uptown Houston near The Galleria.

KFNC airs ESPN Radio programming late nights and weekends, with local sports shows on weekdays from 7 a.m. to midnight and on weekend mornings. The station runs at 100,000 watts, the maximum for FM, with a transmitter near Anahuac, Texas. It also broadcasts via translator 92.5 FM (K223CW) in Houston and is heard on 97.9 FM HD2 (KBXX) in Houston.

History: The station began on March 1, 1948 as KRIC on 99.5 FM in Beaumont, moving to 97.5 FM in the early 1950s to reduce interference with KGUL-TV. It used several call signs over the years, including KAYD, KAYD-FM, KKTT, KRWP, and KIOL. In January 2007, after stints as a country station and a news/talk outlet, KFNC switched to sports as ESPN Houston, joining ESPN Radio and later coming under Gow Media after Cumulus Media’s bankruptcy proceedings.

Popular local shows include The Bench with John Granato & Lance Zierlein, The Del Olaleye Show, Paul Gallant and Joe George, and The Killer B’s with Joel Blank & Jeremy Branham, alongside ESPN Radio programming.
