Justice (2011 TV series)
Justice is a British five-part legal drama that aired on BBC One from 4 to 8 April 2011. It stars Robert Pugh as Judge Patrick Coburn, who runs a community justice centre in his hometown Dovefield, Liverpool. Gillian Kearney plays Louise Scanlon, a local investigative journalist who follows Coburn as he tries to bring Jake Little, a young troublemaker played by Jake Abraham, to justice. The series combines standalone cases with an ongoing story arc across all five episodes, including Coburn’s troubled past and his relationship with parish priest Father Jim Kelly, played by Tom Georgeson. The opening theme is This Town by Frank Sinatra. Each episode runs about 45 minutes. The show was produced by LA Productions, with Colin McKeown as executive producer and also a producer alongside Liam Keelan. A Region 1 DVD was released on 25 October 2011. No further series were made after BBC One controller Danny Cohen said there were too many crime dramas on TV at the time, cancelling Justice along with Zen. Supporting cast includes Jodie Comer, Ellie Paskell, Tricia Penrose, and Louis Emerick.
