Junk Beer Kidnap Band
Junk Beer Kidnap Band, also known as Corey Taylor & the Junk Beer Kidnap Band, was a rock group from Des Moines, Iowa. They were active from 2008 to 2010 and were a side project of Corey Taylor, the singer from Slipknot and Stone Sour. The band never released any official albums or singles.
Corey Taylor once described JBKB as “the first stoner rock disco funk band.” They started by writing nine songs, then Taylor asked them to back him up on his solo shows. He called the style pure Midwest rock, with big chords, huge choruses, and strong melodies. They played original songs and covers, but most of their originals weren’t released officially online.
Their original song “Imperfect” was later slowed down and included on Stone Sour’s 2010 album Audio Secrecy, though the Stone Sour version had some parts removed (drums and an alternate ending).
