Jonathan Lin, born May 14, 1977, in Keelung, Taiwan, is a Taiwanese politician from the Kuomintang (KMT). He has been a member of the Legislative Yuan since February 2024, representing Keelung. Before that, he served as a Keelung City Councilor from 2018 to 2024 and was the council’s deputy speaker from 2018 to 2022. He was reelected to the council in 2022.

Lin holds an MBA from Loyola Marymount University, an MPA from the University of Southern California, and a Doctor of Public Administration from the University of La Verne. His doctoral work focused on revitalizing Keelung Harbor. He did postdoctoral research at National Tsing Hua University.

In his political career, Lin ran for mayor of Keelung in 2013, supported the Port of Keelung’s Rubber Duck display, and backed Hsieh Li-kung for the KMT’s mayoral nomination in 2014. He competed in a 2016 KMT primary and was elected to the Keelung City Council in 2018 with the most votes in his district, later becoming deputy speaker. He was reelected in 2022 and, in 2023, was nominated by the KMT for the Legislative Yuan Keelung seat, winning the January 2024 election and replacing Tsai Shih-ying.

As a legislator, Lin has addressed climate policy, criticized a 2024 Constitutional Court ruling on the death penalty, and pushed reforms to ship insurance and to election/recall laws. He also supported Taiwan’s opposition to UN General Assembly Resolution 2758. In 2025, he faced a recall attempt over several accusations, including alleged incitement of parliamentary violence and comments about civil groups; the recall failed to reach the required threshold.
