John Lilley (ice hockey)
John E. Lilley (born August 3, 1972) is a former American professional ice hockey player. He was born in Wakefield, Massachusetts, and is 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 175 pounds. He played right wing and shot right. After setting a scoring record at Cushing Academy, he played college hockey at Boston University. Lilley was drafted 140th overall in the 1990 NHL Entry Draft by the Winnipeg Jets. He played 23 NHL games for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, scoring 3 goals and 8 assists for 11 points and 13 penalty minutes. He then spent three seasons in Germany’s Deutsche Eishockey Liga with Düsseldorfer EG, the Kassel Huskies, and the Schwenninger Wild Wings. Lilley represented the United States at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer and played in the 1994 World Championship. He finished his playing career with the Long Beach Ice Dogs. In August 2021, he was named Director of Player Personnel and Director of Amateur Scouting for the New York Rangers.
