John A. Dewar

John Alexander Dewar (1863–1945) was a farmer and politician from Prince Edward Island. He served in the provincial legislature for 3rd Kings from 1912 to 1917 as a Conservative. After disagreeing with his party in the 38th General Assembly, he lost the party nomination in his district. He was elected as an Independent in 1919, but did not win in 1923. He was the son of Robert and Jessie Dewar and married Laura McPhee in 1908. Dewar was director and vice-president of the provincial Dairyman's Association. His brother George F. Dewar and his son Lloyd George Dewar also served in the assembly.
