Jerusalem International Oud Festival

Jerusalem International Oud Festival began in 2000 in Jerusalem, created by Eli Grunfeld. In 2003, he expanded it to Tel Aviv at the Tzavta theatre. The Tel Aviv Oud Festival now happens every August and is a major event in Israeli culture. It brings together top oud players who perform original music, Mediterranean classics, and special projects around the instrument.

Notable oud soloists who have appeared include Ara Dinkjian, Yair Dalal, Nizar Rduan, Darvish Darvish (Cairo Oud competition winner), Wasim Ouda (second place), Amir Shahassar, Yoel Ben-Simchon, Ziad Habib, Yaniv Taichman, Alon Ammano Campino, Said Ajami, and others.

Leading singers and performing artists who have taken part in Tel Aviv festival productions include Zehava Ben, Lubna Salame, Galit Giat, Shlomo Bar, Sahara City, Lea Shabat, Haim Ankri, Gil Ron Shema, Kobi Oz, and more.
