Intruders (2015 film)
Intruders, also known as Shut In and Deadly Home, is a 2015 American horror-thriller directed by Adam Schindler. It stars Beth Riesgraf, Martin Starr, Jack Kesy, and Rory Culkin. The story follows Anna, who suffers from severe agoraphobia and never leaves her childhood home. After her brother Conrad dies, three burglars break in looking for money, while Anna fights to survive and uncover dark family secrets.
Plot
Anna has stayed inside her childhood home for ten years because of agoraphobia. She takes care of her dying brother, Conrad, with help from her friend Dan who delivers meals. After Conrad dies, three men—Perry, Vance, and J.P.—break in to find a hidden sum of money. They discover Anna is trapped in the house and attempt to control her, but she proves she cannot be easily moved. As the intruders search, Anna uses the house’s traps and surveillance to fight back.
Through flashbacks and clues, it’s revealed that Conrad was a serial killer who lured victims into the basement, and their father abused Anna and Conrad. The siblings had killed their father, and they believed they were targeting child molesters. Dan confesses he told Vance about the money but never intended the robbery. The intruders are killed or driven away in various confrontations, and Dan escapes with Anna’s help, though J.P. returns for revenge. In the end, Anna scorches the house, burning its secrets as she steps outside.
